What this notice covers
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as session storage, local storage and tags, which the same rules cover. This notice explains what this website uses today and what we will do if that changes.
What we use today
Until you accept analytics, this website sets no cookies. It stores one value in your browser's session storage so that the logo animation plays once per visit rather than on every page, and one value in local storage to remember your cookie choice. Neither identifies you or is shared with anyone.
Categories we may use in future
| Category | What it does | Status | Your choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps a service you have asked for working, such as staying signed in to the provider portal once it launches. | Not used on this website | Cannot be switched off, because the service would not work without it |
| Functional | Remembers a preference, such as not replaying an animation. | One session-storage value, described above | Clear it by closing the tab or clearing site data in your browser |
| Analytics |
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand which pages are read and where visitors have
difficulty. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*, which last up to
two years and recognise a returning browser. Google processes this on our behalf and may
transfer it to the United States under the UK extension to the Data Privacy Framework.
| Only after you accept | Nothing loads until you choose Accept. Change your choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer |
| Marketing | Tracks visitors across websites to show them advertising. | Not used, and not planned | Would only ever be used with your consent |
How we ask
On your first visit a small notice asks whether we may use analytics. Declining does not stop you using the site, and nothing is set until you choose. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again, and Cookie settings in the footer reopens the choice. If we add anything else that is not strictly necessary, we will ask in the same way and update this page with its name, purpose and lifetime.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies and site data through your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop a service such as the provider portal from working. Guidance for common browsers is available from the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
